Things to do in Somerset this Spring

Spring is around the corner, which means brighter days, beautiful pink blossom adorned on trees and Easter celebrations with friends and family. Now is the perfect time to plan your springtime adventures and we’re here to give you some inspiration on some upcoming events around Somerset.

Rare plant fare – Wells

For any nature lovers or gardening fanatics, this fare is the best place to experience (and purchase!) some beautiful, unique plants. Rare plants are usually found in remote nurseries that may be hard to travel to, so this is the perfect chance to marvel at what they have on offer, with all plants nurtured by specialist growers who are happy to offer advice. The fare is also held in The Bishop’s Palace, with 14 acres of stunning, tranquil gardens it’s a delight to visit with friends and family.

Easter adventures at Dunster Castle

Dunster castle is a wonderful place to visit with children this spring. The terraced garden displays varieties of Mediterranean and subtropical plants, while the tranquil riverside wooded garden below, with its natural play area, leads to the historic working watermill. There are panoramic views over the Bristol Channel and surrounding countryside from the castle and grounds. The ‘Easter adventures’ nature trail is returning this year, where there is lots of fun to be had with your family as you discover tropical plants, cosy dens and learn about the bats that live in the castle. You will of course have a chocolate reward waiting for you when you complete the trail!
