Beat the Street
Beat the Street is an Active Travel project already popular in big towns and cities across the UK. Somerset was very lucky to have the game in Bridgwater in 2020. Managed by Intelligent Health, the project aims to increase physical activity levels in a community through walking, running, and cycling. The game works by turning the town into a real-life game and Taunton residents will soon start to see special sensors called Beat Boxes appearing on lampposts around the area.
Beat the Street is run by Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership, Somerset County Council and Somerset West and Taunton Council, funded by the National Lottery via Sport England and managed by Intelligent Health.
